survival was doubtful. When she was 4 years old, she contracted double
pneumonia and scarlet fever, which left her with a paralyzed left leg.

and began to walk without it. By 13 she had developed a rhythmic walk,
which doctors said was a miracle. That same year she decided to become
a runner. She entered a race and came in last.

For the next few years every race she entered, she came in last.

Love, wealth and success

A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with
long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did
not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know
you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have
something to eat."

"Is the man of the house home?", they asked.

"No", she replied. "He's out."

"Then we cannot come in", they replied.

In the evening when her husband came home, she told
him what had happened.

"Go tell them I am home and invite them in!"

The woman went out and invited the men in"

"We do not go into a House together," they replied.

"Why is that?" she asked.

One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he
said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing
to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then
he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband
which one of us you want in your home."

The woman went in and told her husband what was said.
Her husband was overjoyed. "How nice!!", he said.
"Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him
come and fill our home with wealth!"

His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite
Success?"

Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other
corner of the house. She jumped in with her own
suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love?
Our home will then be filled with love!"

"Let us heed our daughter-in-law's advice," said the
husband to his wife.

"Go out and invite Love to be our guest."

The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one
of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest."

Love got up and started walking toward the house. The
other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, the
lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love,
Why are you coming in?"

The old men replied together: "If you had invited
Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed
out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we
go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also
Wealth and Success!!!!!!"

MY WISH FOR YOU...

-Where there is pain, I wish you peace and mercy.
-Where there is self-doubting, I wish you a renewed
confidence in your ability to work through it.
-Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, I wish you
understanding, patience, and renewed strength.
-Where there is fear, I wish you love, and courage.

You have two choices right now:
1. Write this off !
2. Invite love and share this story with all the people you care about.

I hope you will choose #2. I did.

A Chat with God on msn messenger !

GOD Started Chatting With Me:

God: Hello. Did you call me?

Me: Called you? No, who is this?

God: This is GOD. I heard your prayers. So I thought I
will chat.

Me: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually
busy now. I am in the midst of something.

God: What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.

Me: Don't know. But I can't find free time. Life has
become hectic. It's rush hour all the time.

God: Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity
gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity
frees it.

Me: I understand. But I still can't figure out. By the
way, I was not expecting YOU to buzz me on instant
messaging chat.

God: Well I wanted to resolve your fight for time, by
giving you some clarity. In this net era, I wanted to
reach you through the medium you are comfortable with.

Me: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?

God: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is
what makes it complicated.

Me: Why are we then constantly unhappy?

God: Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about
yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing.
Worrying has become your habit. That's why you are not
happy.

Me: But how can we not worry when there is so much
uncertainty?

God: Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is
optional.

Me: But then, there is so much pain due to
uncertainty.

God: Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.

Me: If suffering is optional, why do good people
always suffer?

God: Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold
cannot be purified without fire. Good people go
through trials, but don't suffer. With that experience
their life becomes better not bitter.

Me: You mean to say such experience is useful?

God: Yes. In every term, Experience is a hard teacher.
She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.

Me: But still, why should we go through such tests?
Why can't we be free from problems?

God: Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering
Beneficial Lessons to Enhance Mental Strength. Inner
strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when
you are free from problems.

Me: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don't
know where we are heading.

God: If you look outside you will not know where you
are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream.
Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart
provides insight.

Me: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more
than moving in the right direction. What should I do?

God: Success is a measure as decided by others.
Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing
the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you
rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work
with the clock.

Me: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?

God: Always look at how far you have come rather than
how far you have to go. Always count your blessing,
not what you are missing.

Me: What surprises you about people?

God: When they suffer they ask, "why me?" When they
prosper, they never ask "Why me". Everyone wishes to
have truth on their side, but few want to be on the
side of the truth.

Me: Sometimes I ask, who am I, why am I here. I can't
get the answer.

God: Seek not to find who you are, but to determine
who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to
why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of
discovery but a process of creation.

Me: How can I get the best out of life?

God: Face your past without regret. Handle your
present with confidence. Prepare for the future
without fear.

Me: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are
not answered.

God: There are no unanswered prayers. At times the
answer is NO.

Me: Thank you for this wonderful chat. I am so happy
to start the day with a new sense of inspiration.

God: Well, Keep the faith and drop the fear.

Don't believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs.

Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve. Trust me.
Life is wonderful if you know how to live.
Best wishes for a good day".

Unwise Investment

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year-old son waiting for him at the door

Son: "Daddy, may I ask you a question"

Daddy: "Yeah sure, what it is?"

Son: "Dad, how much do you make an hour"?

Daddy: "That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?" that man said angrily.

Son: "I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?"

Daddy: "I make $500 an hour"

"Oh", the little boy replied, with his head down. Looking up, he said,

"Dad, may I please borrow $300?"

The father was furious, "if the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or other nonsense, then march yourself to your room and go to bed. Think why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday for such childish behavior"

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.

The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions.
"How dare he ask such questions only to get some money? After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think:
"May be there was something he really needed to buy with that Rs. 300 and he really didn't ask
for money very often!"

The man went to the door of little boy's room and opened the door. "Are you asleep, son?" He asked.

"No daddy, I'm awake," replied the boy. "I've been thinking, may be I was too hard on you earlier", said the man, "It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the Rs. 300 you asked for" The little boy sat straight up, smiling "oh thank you Dad!"

He yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled some more crippled up notes. The man, seeing that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.

"Why do you want money if you already had some?" the father grumbled.

"Because I didn't have enough, but now I do," the little boy replied. Tears flowing down his little pink cheeks the boy said very
innocently "Daddy I have Rs. 500 now. Can I buy an hour of your time?
Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you".

What the Father could have said.... nothing indeed....

It's just a short reminder to all of us working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. If we die tomorrow, we could be easily replaced within a short time at the place of work. But what about our families ????, the family & the friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to
our family. An unwise investment indeed!

First we spoil our health in making more money, later we spend a fortune regaining it!!! Please remember
that, precaution is better than cure!!!

Put the glass down

A professor began his class by holding up a glass with somewater in it. He held it up for all to see & asked the students,' How much do you think this glass weighs?'

'50gms!' , '100gms!' , '125gms' The students answered.

'I really don't know unless I weigh it,' said the professor, 'but, my question is: What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?

''Nothing' the students said.

'Ok what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?' the professor asked.

'Your arm would begin to ache' said one of the students.

'You're right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?'

'Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress & paralysis & have to go to hospital for sure!' ventured another student & all the students laughed.

'Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change?' asked the professor.

'No'

'Then what caused the arm ache & the muscle stress?'

The students were puzzled.

'What should I do to remedy this'? asked the professor again.

'Put the glass down!' said one of the students.

'Exactly!' said the professor.' Life's problems are something like this. Hold it for a few minutes in your head & they seem OK. Think of them for a long time & they begin to ache. Hold it even longer & they begin to paralyze you. You will not be able to do anything.'

'It's important to think of the challenges (problems) in your life, but even more important to 'put them down' at the end of every day before you go to sleep. That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh & strong & can handle any issue, any challenge that comes your way!'

So, when u go to bed tonight. Remember to 'PUT THE GLASS DOWN, TODAY!

Moral of the Story

Big John...

One fine day, a bus driver went to the bus garage, started his bus, and drove off along his route. No problems for the first few stops -- a few people got on, a few got off, and things went generally well.

At the next stop, however, a big hulk of a guy got on. Six feet eight, built like a wrestler, arms hanging down to the ground. He glared at the driver and said, "Big John doesn't pay!" and sat down at the back.

Did I mention that the driver was five feet three, thin, and basically meek?
Well, he was. Naturally, he didn't argue with Big John, but he wasn't happy about it.

The next day the same thing happened -- Big John got on again, made a show of refusing to pay, and sat down. And the next day,
and the one after that, and so forth.

This grated on the bus driver, who started losingsleep over the way Big John was taking advantage of him. Finally he could stand it no longer. He
signed up for body building courses, karate, judo, and all that good stuff. By the end of the summer, he had become quite strong -- what's more, he felt really good about himself.

So on the next Monday, when Big John once again got on the bus and said,
"Big John doesn't pay!," the driver stood up, glared back at the passenger, and screamed, "Oh yeah? And why not?!"

With a surprised look on his face, Big John replied, "Big John has a bus pass."

Moral of the story:

Be sure there really is a problem before working hard to solve it.

Noah's Ark - a lesson learnt

This is really beautiful.

Noah's Ark

Everything I needed to know, I learnt from Noah's Ark.

ONE: Don't miss the boat.

TWO: Remember that we are all in the same boat.

THREE: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.

FOUR: Stay fit.

FIVE: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.

SIX: Build your future on high ground.

SEVEN: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.

EIGHT: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.

NINE: When you're stressed, float awhile.

TEN: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.

ELEVEN: No matter the storm, there's always a rainbow waiting.

Most people walk in and out of your life......but RELATIVES AND FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart.

Life

Group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university lecturer. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work life

Offering his guests coffee, the lecturer went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups: porcelain, plastic, glass, some plain looking and some expensive and exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said: "If you noticed, all the nice
looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other's cups."

"Now, if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change." "Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it."

So, don't let the cups drive you...enjoy the coffee instead........

One day I decided to quit ...

One day I decided to quit...

I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality...

I wanted to quit my life.

I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

"God", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"

His answer surprised me...

"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"

"Yes", I replied.

"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water.

The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed.

But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.

And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said.

"In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit.

In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo see.

I would not quit." He said.

"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth.

Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.

It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.

I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."

He said to me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots"

"I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you."

"Don't compare yourself to others." He said. "The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful."

"Your time will come", God said to me. "You will rise high"

"How high should I rise" I asked.

"How high will the bamboo rise" He asked in return.

"As high as it can" I questioned.

"Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."

I left the forest and bring back this story.

I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.

Never Give up.
